Jessie Carlson

Jessie Carlson, age 84, a resident of Grayslake, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on June 29, 1937, she was the daughter of Charles and Mabel Burgy.  She graduated from Senn High School in 1955.  Jessie lived in Chicago raising her family until they moved to Park Ridge where she resided for many years.  She enjoyed sailing, boating and travelled in the US and extensively abroad.  She and her husband, Chuck moved to Del Webb in Huntley, Illinois, enjoying many years with family and friends. Jessie was a fun, loving, and generous mother and grandmother and will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel Burgy; her brothers, Charles, Jr. and William; her husband of 16 years, Charles Carlson; and her former husband, Ervin Wells.  She is survived by her daughters, Lura (Jeff) Arnold and Evelyn Dziallo; her grandchildren, Vincent (Elaine), Tess, Amanda, AnnaMae, Jessie, and Liu.

A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 9:30am, followed by a funeral service at 11am.  Immediately following the funeral service, interment will be held at Acacia Park Cemetery, 7800 Irving Park Road, Norridge, IL 60706.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
