Isabel F. Schultz

Isabel Faith Schultz, 15, went to be with the Lord September 25, 2020 at her home in Lake Villa, IL.  It became clear that in recent weeks she had been struggling with a pain she had not shared with anyone and in a moment of weakness it led to her taking her own life.  Isabel was born January 11, 2005 in Madison, WI.  She was a sophomore at Grant High School and a member at Lakeland Church where she was an active participant in its youth group, Crossing.  She had many friends who loved her and whom she loved.  We remember Izzy for the way she lived her life, not for the way she died.  Izzy had a zest for life that was hard to contain.  She dreamed of teaching in Japan and exploring Asia with friends.  She loved all of what made her life worthy, including a good meal and would prepare herself feasts that were instagram worthy.  She had a mischievous and playful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh, but was innately nurturing and somehow always knew the needs of others and how to meet them.  Isabel's love for her family knew no bounds.  She laughed and played with her dad, sometimes stealing his donut and hiding it in the oven.  She loved making her mom take her shopping and sharing special snuggle and conversation time.  Isabel had an exceptional relationship with her younger brothers and sister.  Her four-year-old brother loved when she pushed him on the swing or read books.  She shared special beauty days with nail polish and make-up with her six-year-old sister, and sneakily watched late-night movies (and got busted for laughing too loud) with her 13-year-old brother.  Isabel is survived by her parents Mary and Anthony Schultz, her siblings Aaron, Naomi, and James all of Lake Villa, her grandparents William A. and Virginia Ann Stevenson and Carol A. and Robert Venherm, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her very much.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather Jim D. Schultz.  A visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2020 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Village Church of Gurnee 1319 Hunt Club Rd. Gurnee, IL.  There will be a scheduled break until the outdoor funeral service at 2:00pm at the church.  Interment will be held privately.  Donations to defray the service costs for the family can be directed to Lakeland Church 440 Hunt Club Rd.
