Irenia Perez

Irenia Perez, 89, passed away August 26, 2024 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, IL. She was born September 4, 1934 to Juan Sr. and Adelfina Sanchez from Uvalde, TX.

Irenia is survived by her husband Pedro Perez, her children Petra (Rafael Sr.) Cardona from Austin, TX, Erenia (Raymundo Sr.) Martinez of Ingleside, IL, San Juanita (Francisco) Garza of McHenry, IL, Angie (Santos) Flores of North Aurora, IL and Pete Jr. (Estella) Perez from Addison, IL, her grandchildren Rafael Cardona Jr., Isidro Cardona, Danny (Ruby) Cardona, Petra (Dominic) Putnam, Raymundo Jr. (Ruby) Martinez, Leroy (Amy) Martinez, Emmamay (the late Jose Luis) Vazquez, Rachel (Francisco) Murillo, Roxann (Devin) Tershel, Francisco Garza III, Michelle Navarro (the late Joseph Zuniga), Marie Navarro (Eric Flores), Stephani Flores, Sophia Flores, Alicia Flores, Josh Perez, Jay Perez, Tony Estrada Jr. and Gabriel Estrada, her sisters, Maria Vasquez, and Geneva Placencia of Uvalde, TX, her 40 great-grandchildren and her 22 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Flora Estrada of Twin Lakes, WI and her siblings from Uvalde, TX: Anita Sanchez, Juan Sanchez Jr., Reymundo Sanchez, Estella Mares and Alberto Sanchez.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL, 60030 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, August 29, 2024 at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL, 60030 at 11:00 am.
