Giovanna Coniglio

Giovanna Coniglio, 88, a resident of Lake Villa, IL, passed away on November 1, 2025 at Advocate Condell Medical Center. She was born on September 8, 1937 in Palermo, Italy to Pietro and Francesca Sinatra.

Giovanna is survived by her children, Salvatore, David, and Loredana Coniglio, her granddaughter, Alexandra; and her sister, Sara Cavallo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pietro Coniglio; her mother, Francesca Sinatra; and her siblings, Santo Sinatra, Andrea Sinatra, and Rosalia Aruta.

Giovanna enjoyed time with her children but her grandchild was everything to her. She retired early to help her daughter raise Lexi at home. She loved to dance and was always the first on the dance floor at weddings. She enjoyed planting flowers every spring and sitting in the backyard enjoying the fine weather. When at home there was plenty of espresso coffee to go around. Her passion was to travel throughout Sicily with her husband and children and when we emigrated to America she went back to Italy often, sometimes with her husband and sometimes with her daughter to see her sisters and nephews and nieces. We enjoyed the time we had with her and celebrated every birthday with her. We miss her very much, but we know she is in good company especially with her husband Pietro, our papa'.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, 301 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 11:30am. A Visitation will be held at church from 10:30am until the start of Mass. Interment will be held at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
