George Walter Thoren

George Walter Thoren, age 66, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015 at his home. He was born March 1, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter and Stella (nee Drakos) Thoren. An avid car enthusiast, George was an amateur race car driver and member of the Sports Car Club of America. He loved animals and was very proud of his sons and the mother of his children, Sarah. George is survived by his sons, Dylan of Mundelein, Chris of Chicago, and Ian of Vernon Hills; his siblings, Cathy (Godfrey) Tschiltsch of California, Bruce of California, and Gus of California; and many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Antony. Friends of the family may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2016 to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.
