Elizabeth Jean Vice, 90, a resident of Round Lake Beach, IL, went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 12, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH to Charles and Lillian Zwilling.
A faithful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Betty’s spirit was rooted in grace and faith. Her days were filled with prayer, song, and joy of serving the Lord. Betty was a member of Indian Hill Bible Church for many years and was an Awana Leader. Betty worked for the Round Lake Area Schools as a food service worker for many years. She was known as the Lunch Lady. She retired from Fox Lake School districts after many years. She lived in Lake County for over 55 years. On March 31, 1983, Betty married the love of her life, William Andrew Vice, Jr.
She was a loving mother to six children, Marcia (Robert) Orlando, Barbara Daniels, Donna (David) Couch, Mark (Leslie) Vice, Douglas Vice, and Robert Vice. She is further survived by her nephew who was like a brother to her, Walter Wolf; and her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Above all, Betty will be remembered as a wonderful, devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and was dedicated to her family and the Lord. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William A. Vice, Jr.; her parents, Charles and Lillian Zwilling; her brothers, George Zwilling, and Charles Zwilling, Jr.; her sisters, Catherine “Kay” Wolf, and Ruth Iler; her son-in-law, Gary Daniels, Sr.; and her grandson, Cory Vice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncrest Hospice IL or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Betty’s Honor. With gratitude for the compassionate care and support provided to her and her family, we thank Oak Hill Supportive Living of Round Lake Beach and Suncrest Hospice IL.
