Dorothy M. Bamber

Dorothy M. Bamber, 93, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away September 24, 2023 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  She was born August 3, 1930 in Paris, Ontario, Canada to Henry and Mabel Wood.

Dorothy was a devoted member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church and volunteered with the Altar Flower group.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Jeffrey Holmes and Lyle Holmes, her grandchildren Ashleigh Holmes, Sarah Avalon Holmes, Christina Holmes, Samantha Holmes, and Michael Henry Holmes, her great-granddaughter Eliana, her brothers Don Wood and John Wood, her cousins in Canada, and her numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her children Mary Anne Holmes and Martin Holmes, her parents, her sister Betty, and her brother Ken.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the funeral mass commencing at 11:00am.  Interment will follow the service at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Gilbert Church.  All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E.
