Dena Ann Mitchell

Dena Ann Mitchell, age 78, a resident of Grayslake, passed away on October 1, 2021 at her home.  Dena was born on August 15, 1943 in Chicago to Elmer and Violet (nee Padgitt) Granberg.  She was a Spiritualist in her faith.  She was an original Mickey Mouse Club Member and lifelong Cubs and Bears fan.  Dena was a Girl Scout Leader for 20+ years, past PTA president of both Dever Elementary and Steinmetz High School, and a volunteer at the Elk Grove Village Library. She is survived by her children, William Mitchell of Aurora, Sandra (Paul) Eubanks of Davenport, FL, and Debra (Joe) Rutledge of Grayslake; her grandchildren, Melaney Mitchell of Walnut Creek, CA, Breann Mitchell of LaCrosse, WI, David Rutledge of Grayslake, and Ethan Rutledge of Grayslake; and her sisters-in-law, Elaine (Marshall) Pearlman of Mundelein and Georgia Harsch of Elk Grove Village.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Mitchell; parents; and her sister, Nancy Ann Granberg.  A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the Saddlebrook Farms- Lake House, 1 Saddlebrook Dr., Grayslake, IL 60030.  All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E.
