Deanna B. Hinkley

Deanna B. Hinkley, age 82, a resident of Lindenhurst, passed away on August 10, 2024 at her home.  She was born on August 17, 1941 to Charles and Mary (nee Dahmer) Becker.  She graduated from SIU-Carbondale, taught elementary and junior high school in Carterville, Illinois, in Missouri, and Woodland Schools, Grayslake. She worked in Public Relations and as a librarian at College of Lake County. She was a member of United Protestant Church in Grayslake where she was active in children's choir and in the Friday Knights Club. She was a master gardener and home landscaper.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children, Greg (Debbie), Neil (Chandra), and Ross; her grandchildren, Abby (Dakota), K.C., Jimmy (Sami), Thomas, and Beth (Jeremey); her sister, Charlena (Mike); great grandson Rory, her sister-in-law Annetta Becker and sister-in-law Rosemary Hinkley, and generations of other relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Fred Becker.

A visitation will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 4pm until 8pm.  Interment will be held at Becker Cemetery, on Corinth Road east of Johnston City, IL at 10:30am on Friday, August 16, 2024.
