Danny Ritchie

Danny Ritchie, age 78, of Grayslake, IL passed away on January 4, 2024.  The youngest of 10 siblings, Danny was born on June 14, 1945 to Louise Sexton Ritchie in Hazard, KY.  Danny was delivered by the local midwife, his own grandmother, Mary Princess Griffith Sexton. Danny always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He loved fishing, animals, gospel music and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Tara (Martin) OConnor of Grayslake; his brother, Samuel "Kell" Ritchie of Leatherwood, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his mother; his son, Carl Wayne;  brothers, Roger, Corbett, Oscar "Dell" and James; sisters, Bessie, Ruby, Dollie and Esther.

We like to think that since Danny has left this earth, he has been fishing the great lakes of paradise with his son, Carl.   All arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.  For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org .
