Christine M. Evensen

Christine M. Evensen, age 61, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away on August 24, 2024 at JourneyCare Hospice Center in Barrington, IL.  She was born on June 5, 1963 in Park Ridge, IL.

Chris grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois, and graduated from Maine West in 1981.  She continued her education at Northern Illinois, but ultimately graduated from Aurora University in 1986 with a degree Computer Science.  She married and moved to Norfolk Virginia and had a son, Michael.  Chris divorced and relocated to Kenosha, Wisconsin and soon met Robert.  They married on August 2, 2002, moving to Grayslake, Illinois.  She obtained a master's degree from Grantham University in 2017.  Chris worked as a paralegal in several roles within the US Government from 1988 until 2010.  She then became a Management Data Analyst with the Department of Defense until her retirement in December of 2020.  Chris loved spending time with Michael and Robb, camping at Lake Arrowhead, and her dogs, Brody, Charlie and Honey.  She especially loved her Wisconsin sports teams, The Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.           Go Pack Go

Christine is survived by her husband, Robert; her son, Michael Collis of Kenosha, WI; her mother, Charlotte Whetstone; her father, Thomas Stangle; her brother, Stephen (Kerry Paulsen) Whetstone of Mt. Prospect; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Jack Whetstone; and her maternal grandmother, Virginia Schueller.

A Funeral Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3pm.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 pm until 3:00pm at the funeral chapel. Interment will be held privately.
