Chester Filas, age 100, a resident of Grayslake, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018. Chester was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church in Grayslake. Chester is survived by his son, Kenneth (Judith); grandchildren, Anna (Kenneth) and Ken (Laura); great-grandchildren, Allyson, Aaron, Nathan, Logan and Joshua. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sophia; parent, Mary and Frank Filas; 1 brother; and 1 sister. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass is scheduled for Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030.
