Carol J. Nykol

Carol J. Nykol, 89, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away August 10, 2025, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. She was born February 3, 1936, in Chicago, IL to William and Frances Johnson. From a wonderful daughter she became a beloved wife of 67 years and cherished mother.

Carol enjoyed crocheting, Christmas Solitaire, crossword puzzles, and Wordle. She was an avid Cubs fan and she volunteered as a den mother when her boys were scouts. She loved holidays, family, friends, and "telling Jimmy how to drive."

Carol is survived by her sons Jay Nykol and Chris (Barbara) Nykol, her grandchildren Aaron Nykol, Krissie (Elijah) Howard, Grace (Christina) Nykol, CC Nykol, and Kate Nykol, her great-grandchildren Aries and Tajia, and her sister Rochelle Weber, nieces Elizabeth and Christine. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ross Nykol, and her husband Jim Nykol.

A memorial visitation and service is scheduled for Friday, August 29, 2025, at Lutheran Home Chapel 800 W. Oakton St. Arlington Heights, IL 60004 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the service commencing at 11:00am and lunch at noon (Please RSVP). The interment will take place on Saturday, August 30 at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights starting at 10 am for the immediate family and anyone unable to make the Friday event.
