Bonni E. Cholewa

Bonni E. Cholewa, 74, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away August 27, 2025, at Avantara in Libertyville, IL.  She was born November 14, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Elaine and Joseph Cholewa.  

Bonni worked as a professional daycare provider for 6 weeks to 6 years of aged children.  She poured her heart out to over sixty kids.  So much love was given most refused to go home with their parents.  She also poured out her love to the parents.  The biggest part of her was her heart.  She cared for everybody and was never too busy to help them.  Her heart was so big.  Bonni was a fantastic cook.  She was taught by her mother, who was a professional caretaker herself.  Her specialty was deviled eggs as witnessed by many post office parties, picnics, and private parties.  She was never too busy to make dishes for people, but what she really loved and cared for most was her love of children.

Bonni is survived by her brother Joseph Cholewa. 

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:00am.  The interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, IL.  For more information log onto www.strangfuneral.org or contact (847)223-8122.
