Sheila M. Rader, 74, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away February 8, 2026, at her home.  She was born May 20, 1951, in Evanston, IL to Raymond and Virginia Powroznik.  

Sheila retired from Motorola, as an electrical engineer after 38 years and having developed 13 patents.  She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle.  Sheila enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan, was a ham radio operator, and most of all loved spending time with her family.

Sheila is survived by her wife of 51 years, Kathleen Rader, her children Eric Rader, Karen (Tim) Copeland, and Laura (David) Ripley, her grandchildren Oliver Copeland, Charlotte Copeland, Decker Ripley, Cleo Ripley, and Landon Ripley, and her sister Mary (Glenn) Lauer.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Raymond Powroznik.  

A memorial visitation and mass are scheduled for Thursday, February 26, 2026 at St. Paul the Apostle Church 6401 Gages Lake Road Gurnee, IL 60031 from 9am until 10 am with the mass commencing at 10am.  Inurnment will take place at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
