Sheila M. Anderson, 62, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away March 22, 2026, at her home. She was born March 2, 1964 in Massachusetts to Carl and Kathleen McKenzie.

Wow, what a lady! Sheila was an amazing wife, mother, sibling, daughter and friend! She loved well and cared for those around her with thoughtfulness and grace. She was always a teacher at heart and so very creative in her ministries at church and her gift giving.

Most important to Sheila was her faith and relationship with God. For over two years she battled with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) but only learned of the diagnosis less than a year ago. Though a shock, followed by many questions, Sheila's strength and trust in God was an inspiration.

Sheila is survived by her husband John Anderson, her children Nathan Anderson, Emily Anderson, Ellen Anderson, and Sarah Anderson, and her siblings Christine (Jay Muse) Strohman of Springfield, MA, Kathleen (Aaron) McNichols of Sonoma, CA, Patricia McKenzie of Sonoma, CA, Carl (Catherine) McKenzie of Westfield, MA, and Lauren McKenzie of West Springfield, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026 at The Chapel 1200 American Way Libertyville, IL at 11:00am. Interment service for family will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
