Saverio "Sam" Deligio

Saverio "Sam" Deligio, age 63, a resident of Ingleside,IL, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. He was born on July 4, 1962 in Chicago, IL to Andrea and Maria (nee Giordano) Deligio.

Sam is survived by his children, Tianna (Steven Monroy), Nina (Gunther) Balensiefer, Daniel (Dana Rhea), Dominick (Mara), and Sam (Eden Spiva); his grandchildren, Amayah, Alayna, Ava, Aylah, and Ariella Monroy, Mable Balensiefer, Luciana and Marina Deligio, and Everett Deligio; his siblings, Grace (Vito) Mazzoccoli, Tony (Melanie), Vince (Cathy), and Maria (Tom) Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sam could often be found with a fishing rod in his hand or riding his motorcycle on the open road. He spent much of his time fixing cars and helping others, but nothing compared to the joy he found in being a grandfather. He loved taking his grandchildren fishing and sharing stories of his past. Sam left an incredible mark on all who knew him. He was a man who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger and his last dollar to his friend. His legacy will forever live on in the countless lives he touched. 

A Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 3pm until 7pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 7pm.
