Ronald K. Bonk, 75, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2026.  He was born June 15, 1950 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Marion Bonk.

Ronald is survived by his children Brandy (Chuck) Gagnon, Crystal (Frank) Batura, Trevor (Vanessa) Bonk and Dustin Bonk; grandchildren Chase Gagnon, Collin Gagnon, Addison Batura, Blake Batura, Miranda Bonk, Sheila Bonk, Nathan Bonk, and Niles Bonk, and his many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Patricia Boeglin and Joyce Hovland.

Ron was a Vietnam veteran and made his living as a collision repairman. In his free time, Ron enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to car shows, watching NASCAR and slot car racing, golfing and spending time with his friends and family.  He was a devoted father and grandfather and a good friend to those close to him. Ron loved listening to classic rock music, specifically ZZ Top, AC/DC and Aerosmith. Recently, he most enjoyed spending time with his cat Missy and watching the Price is Right. 

A memorial visitation and service are scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with the memorial service commencing at 7:00pm. Internment will be held privately at Warren Cemetery in Gurnee.
