Reynaldo Maldonado Mendoza, 79, a resident of Round Lake Park, IL, passed away March 4, 2026, at his home. He was born January 20, 1947 in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico to Genaro Maldonado Murgia and Nicolasa Maldonado Mendoza.

Reynaldo enjoyed singing, being around friends and family, food, and traveling. He was know for his sense of humor, his love of old movies especially westerns, country music in Spanish and English, and his love of baseball and the Chicago Cubs.  Most of all he was a loving father, who adored his grandkids and family.

Reynaldo is survived by his children Lorena Maldonado Gomez, Jacqueline Maldonado, and Rudy Maldonado, his grandchildren Zaida Pineda, Saira Lopez, David Lopez Maldonado, and Ulises Lopez Maldonado, and his great-granddaughter Jackeline Reyes Lopez. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Rigo Maldonado.

He will be missed and loved by many and will remain in all of our hearts.

A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd.Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with the service commencing at 7:00pm. Interment will be held privately.
