Obituary

Laurence Patrick “Pat” Clemens was born on March 7, 1935, in Chicago to Emmerson and Lucille (Clarke). He passed away on January 3, 2026, at Condell Hospital in Libertyville.

Pat married Jennie (Heard) on December 27, 1953, in Dubuque, Iowa. They shared 73 years of marriage.

Pat joined the Marines in 1953; he proudly served and was based at Quantico. After leaving the service, he worked for a metallurgical company. In 1972 he was charged with setting up a satellite facility in Marshall, North Carolina. Pat enjoyed the people and the time he spent in Marshall. He returned to Illinois as a VP of Research and Development before starting his own company. After retiring, he spent time volunteering at the VA, woodworking, and spending time with friends and his Masonic Family. Pat was active in the Masonic Fraternity. He joined Rising Sun Lodge in Grayslake where he served twice as the Master. He served the Grand Lodge of Illinois in many positions. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Chicago who bestowed him the honor of becoming a 33-degree Mason in October 2024. Pat was also a member of York Rite.

Pat and Jennie have four children; Jean (Phil) Wallin in Wauconda, Illinois; Gary (Billie Jean) who resides in Sylva, North Carolina; Dawn (Robert) DeGraf in West Melbourne, Florida; Dianna Bremigan in Jarrell, Texas.

He was the doting grandpa to; John Wallin in Cleveland, Ohio; Christina (Andrew) Kuhns in West Melbourne, Florida; Major Jackson (Jennifer) Clemens at Wieshaden, Germany; Captain Michael (Christine) Clemens at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Shelby (Lance Burch) Bremigan in Tallahassee, Florida.

He adored his great grandchildren; Eaton G. Kuhns, Tegan T. Kuhns, and Paxton L. Kuhns.

Pat is survived by; his brother Edgar (Jayne) Clemens; his sister Patricia Eleanor Nanette “Nancy” Novak; his sisters in-law Jill Clemens and Nyla Wagoner; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by; his parents; parents in-law Charles and Mildred Heard; his brothers Emmerson, Jack, and Michael; his sisters Caroline, Corrine, and Cathleen; his son in-law Charles Bremigan; his brothers in-law Ronald Novak, Stan Paves, Charles and Clifford Heard; his sisters in-law Barabara Paves, Marilyn and Jean Clemens.

Services will be private.
