Christine R. Thompson,82, a resident of Gurnee, IL, passed away June 1, 2026 at her home at Heritage Woods of Gurnee. She was born March 24, 1944 in Waukegan, IL to Al and Anne Kaczmaryn.

Christine was a lifelong proud Cub fan and collected lots of memorabilia over the years. She also collected Teddy bears and loved dogs, especially her black lab, Blackie. She enjoyed flower design, gardening and Bingo. Chris was a hard worker all her life and finally retired at the age of 77 from Mutual Ace Hardware.

Christine is survived by her sisters Pat (Dennis) Jermolowicz, Mary (the late Frank) Merlock, and Linda (the late Paul) Plier, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Al Kaczmaryn, her sister Helen Mazzeo, and her nephew Dennis P. Jermolowicz.

A visitation and funeral service are scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 9:00am until 10:00am with the service commencing at 10:00am. Interment will follow the service at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Save-a-Pet or to Cubs Care Charities.
