Obituary's Biography:

Robin Lynn Niemi, age 63, of Wauconda, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born November 16, 1954 in Limestone, ME. Robin graduated from Warren Township High School in 1972. She moved to California shortly after graduation to pursue her dream of being a singer. Although her group did cut one album and was the opening act for the Turtles, she went the conventional route and started a family. Robin loved staying in touch with her friends and family on facebook. She was a champion at puzzley words, spades and every kind of game ever invented. But, her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and her beloved pooch, Odie. She was much loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Len, whom she married in Long Grove on March 15, 1998; her children, Jessica Randall of Elgin, William Randall of Wauconda and Jessy (Matt) Tarquino of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren, Sydney, Emma and Leona; and her siblings, Bruce Stone of Baltimore, MD, Mark Peters of California and Brett Peters of Waukegan. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Skip, and a niece, Tammy Stone. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. also at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation, 1100 Industrial Rd, Ste. 1, San Carlos, CA 94070 or to the Lung Cancer Alliance, PO Box 418372, Boston, MA 02241-8372.
