I have been blessed to work with Paul for the past 21 years. Paul was an incredible mentor, leader and personal friend to me. Words cannot describe how much I will miss him! I am so incredibly sorry for your loss! Paul was taken well before any of us were ready. He touched so many lives for the good. I’m grateful I had the chance to know him as both a colleague and a cherished friend.

  3. Dear Peterson Family,

I know that the shock felt by Paul’s friends is nothing compared to your pain. Paul was kind, friendly, intelligent, and extremely competent in our work field. Although I have never worked with Paul, I have know him through CBAALAS for 23 years, and have always considered him one of the great managers in our field, and a complete gentleman. I truly looked forward to seeing Paul at regional meetings. After we talked about business, we would always find time to talk about our children. His dedication and friendship will be missed greatly by all of us.

My heart aches for your loss. Paul was the very first person to walk up and welcome me to the Gurnee neighborhood. From the summer before 4 th grade until the end of high school we play all types of sports together. The greatest for all of us kids was playing football for Warren THS.

  9. I’ve known and worked with Paul for over 25 years. We always met with a smile. I never thought of his team as a service group, but as an integral part of all of our scientific achievements. Paul’s work and life will be missed, but the example he left us to live by will be always cherished. Peace to you my friend, and comfort to your family in God’s hands.

  10. Dear Peterson family,

I just learned about your sad loss. I’m honored to have known Paul for more than 14 years and always enjoyed working with him – in the U.S. or during his couple visits to Germany. Paul had this incredible way to lighten up a room with his smile and I remember him always being in a good mood.
I will cherish those memories and keep them in my heart.

While I’m deeply sad to lose a respected colleague and a dear friend much too early, I can only imagine what you are going through right now. I wish you strength in these difficult times and many good memories.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

    With heartfelt sympathy
    Stefan

  12. Growing up in the neighborhood with Paul and Craig was a lot of fun. Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, you raised a fine son. He was always courteous, friendly, and caring. The Callan family was blessed to have such great neighbors! I was so glad to touch base and remember fond memories with you all. Paul will be greatly missed. Craig, don’t forget, Lincolnwood is just a stone’s throw from Skokie. God bless you all. The Callan Family (Emily)

  13. Dear Peterson Family,
it filled us with deep sadness when we heard of the passing of Paul. We met him 8 years ago and every time we met, his warm personality and great humor impressed us. He was a great mentor and role model for Eva when they became colleagues and Eva always appreciated his valuable advice.
We will always remember his warm smile and arms opened for a hug, which we always got to see when we met. He will be dearly missed.

We pray for you, his family, and wish you strength for these days.

    Eva & Peter Grüner

  14. I’ve known and worked with Paul for many years at Abbott and AbbVie. He was integral to the success of Imaging and many other projects at our company. His smile and enthusiasm were infectious. He has kind hearted and always saw the best in people. He was adept at finding ways to get things done. Paul was frequently our first point of contact for new projects that required bringing disparate groups together. We all miss him. Gerry and the iSAT teams.

  15. My belated condolences to the Peterson family as I have just learned of his passing. My seemingly short time with Pauly and Craig at college created memories of a thoughtful and caring man who knew how to have fun. I am glad to know he continues to have people around him that love and care for him.
