passed away Saturday January 2, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the age
of 82. She was born August 17, 1927
in Milwaukee, WI to the late Albert and Magdelena (nee: Arends)
Augustine. Joyce was a member of the
Eastern Star located at 329

Joyce is survived by her children James (Miriam) of Frankfort, IL
and Jeanne Royer of Round Lake Beach, her grandchildren David Sandy of

Patton of Antioch, and Alison Royer and Mitchell Royer both of Frankfort,

and formerly of Round Lake, passed away Thursday January 7, 2010 at
Lexington Healthcare in Wheeling,
at the age of 84. She was born March 21, 1925 in Chicago to the late Charles and Vicenta Zeno.
Carmen was a columnist and correspondent of the Lakeland newspaper and a real estate
broker. She was a member of the Condell Auxillary and
volunteered for shelters and food pantries.
Carmen is survived by her children Charles (Mary) Beese Jr., Allen (Kitty) Beese,
Edward (Therese Considine) Beese,
Marie Gurtowski, John Beese,
and Jean (Jerald) Kegg, her 20 grandchildren, and
her 21 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her husband Charles J. Beese

Klein. She was preceded in death by

Eileen Kerr
Eileen Marie Kerr {nee Hogan}, an 87-year-old Round
Lake, IL resident, passed away early Saturday morning, January 9, 2010 at
Advocate Condell Medical Center in
Libertyville. She was born in Cleveland, OH
on September 3, 1922 to the now late Thomas and Margaret {nee McCaffrey}
Hogan. Eileen was a graduate of Ursuline College in Cleveland, class of 1944, Sacred Heart
Academy, class of 1940, and Case Western Reserve University,
obtaining a Masters of Library Science in 1980. She was very active in the Young
Christian Workers, worked as a reference librarian at Morley Library in
Painesville, OH for 28 years, served as a social worker for the Child
Welfare Board in Cuyahoga County, OH, was a member of Christ the King
Parish in Cleveland for the first 29 years of her life, and was a longtime
member of St. Mary’s Parish in Painesville, OH from 1957 until
2004. Most recently, she was a
member of Saint Gilbert’s Parish in Grayslake, IL. Her hobbies included genealogy, mystery
novels, travel, cooking, and the arts.
Eileen was the devoted mother of Michael Kerr of Santa
Monica, CA, Margaret Kerr of Grayslake, IL, Thomas
(Robin) Kerr of Cleveland Heights, OH; loving grandmother of Sarah and
Daniel of Cleveland Heights; dear sister of Francis (Rosemarie) Hogan of
Cleveland, OH and Reverend Thomas Hogan S.M. of Cupertino, CA. Her husband Francis John Kerr, sister

Raymond J. Sima, an
87-year-old lifelong resident of Round
Lake, passed away early Tuesday
morning, January 19, 2010 at Victory
Lakes in Lindenhurst. He was born in Chicago to the now late James and Marie Sima. Raymond
served his country proudly during WWII, where he met his now late wife,
Julia, while stationed in Italy.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Round Lake
for over 50 years. Raymond was the
loving father of Glenn and Alan Sima, both of
Round Lake; dear brother of George Sima of
Cadott, WI; and fond uncle of several.
His siblings Theresa, Jean, Marie, Nancy and Charles preceded him in

Kevin
M. May, 56, from Gurnee, IL,
passed away at UWHealth in Madison, WI,
on January 18, 2010. He was born in Aurora, IL. Kevin was an educator for Waukegan School District
#60 for 23 years, most recently as librarian at the Waukegan High School. Kevin served in the Peace Corps in Paraguay
from 1978 to 1980 as a rural teacher trainer. He traveled the world and pursued a
philosophy of lifelong learning.
Kevin instilled a love of reading and strove to help students
discover their gifts and achieve their potential. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church
in Gurnee, IL, the Knights of Columbus, and the
American Federation of Teachers. He
married Joyce (nee: Rowe) May on January 21, 1984 in Aurora, IL. Other survivors include his sister Mary
(Bill) Johnson, sister-in-law Ceil (Sean) May, and many beloved nieces and
nephews. A visitation is scheduled for Friday January 22, 2010 from 4:00pm

Hill, William F.
William F.
“Bill” Hill, 87, of Wildwood, IL., passed away on January 19th
after a two-year struggle against cancer.
Born in Baltimore,
MD., on June 23, 1922, Bill
devoted his professional life to the pursuit of knowledge and encouraged
and mentored countless students to do the same over more than 45 years as a
college professor. He taught high
school in Baltimore and received a
Master’s degree in Education from Loyola University Maryland
in 1954.
He began his collegiate teaching career
in 1957 at the College of St. Teresa in Winona MN and received a
Master’s degree in Theology from Marquette University. He joined the Religious Studies faculty
of Mundelein College
in 1969 and taught there and at Loyola
University, from
which he retired as Professor Emeritus in 2000. At Mundelein, Mr. Hill co-founded the
first Weekend College program in Chicago, putting a bachelor’s degree
within reach for hundreds of non-traditional students. He also co-founded the College’s
Master of Liberal Arts program.He was a
distinguished professor, much admired by both colleagues and students
throughout his academic career. He
taught courses on the works of philosophers and theologians addressing the
fundamental question of what it means to be human.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret, a
cherished friend and confidante for 39 years, and 11 children who proudly
and affectionately carry his legacy:

McBroom; Kathleen (Ken) Kastler; Paul
(Stephanie); Thomas (Vera); Teresa (William Kubovy);
