Mark Conerty
Mark J. Conerty, a 52-year-old Grayslake resident, passed away Tues. Nov. 20, 2012 at home in the presence of his loving family, after a year long struggle with brain cancer. He was born in Woodstock, IL on Sep. 6, 1960, the son of Joseph and Jane Conerty. Mark attended St. Mary’s and Marian Central Catholic schools, graduating from Marian Central in 1979. Mark will be remembered as much for his hard work ethic as his enjoyment of relaxing and being outdoors. His favorite escape was being on his boat on a sunny afternoon with his family. Mark was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing football and basketball in his youth, coaching his kids, and rooting for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. His passion for genealogy kept him in touch with his heritage, of which he was quite proud. His greatest passion was being a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His life will forever be celebrated by his family and friends. Mark is survived by his wife Caroline {nee Fulmer}, whom he married on December 7, 2002 at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock; his mother and stepdad Jane and Tom Cooney his son Jordan and daughters Paige and Kayla; his sisters Mary (Alan) Stilling, Pat (Terry) Clarke, and Marty Conerty; and his brother John (Kate) Conerty. His memory and spirit will also live on through his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles, whom he loved dearly. Mark was preceded in death by his father and his youngest sister Clare Conerty. Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Fri. Nov. 23, 2012. The funeral service will commence at 10:30 a.m. on Sat. Nov. 24, 2012, also at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium.
