Kay “Michelle” Merten (Campbell), age 54, Grayslake, IL
Passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. She was born in Kansas City, MO on December 20th, 1963 to James and Elizabeth (Davis) Campbell. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 26 years David Merten, children Alex and Kristina Merten and brother Tim Campbell. Michelle’s passion in life was being a mother to her two beautiful children Alex and Kristina and her beloved dog Choco, and aunt to her niece and two nephews. Michelle’s life revolved around her husband and two children. Nothing brought her more pleasure in the world than attending all of their swimming, gymnastic, cheer, running or scouting events, to just name a few. She was so proud of all their accomplishments and of being their mother. Along with being an amazing wife and mother, she was a wonderful friend to many. She was fun, sassy and willing to help anyone who needed it. She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful laugh that brightened any room. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will take place Saturday July 21, 2018 from 9 am to 10:30 am with Mass at 10:30 am followed by Lunch at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for the children’s education expenses. Donations can be sent to Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 E.   2. My fondest memories of Michelle are from our childhood as Camp Fire Girls. We hiked, camped and learned a lot skills together including all the camp songs we used to sing. I will not be with you in person on Saturday but my thoughts and prayers continue for her family and all of her friends.#thesingingbluebirds
