Obituary's Biography:
January 16, 1947 – June 3, 2017
Our world momentarily stopped on Saturday, June 3, 2017, when our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Charles R. Gorski (Chuck) passed away unexpectedly. He was a long time resident of Glenview and had recently been a resident of Gurnee for 18 years. Chuck married his childhood sweetheart, Kitty, the love of his life on December 4th, 1965. At the age of 19, Chuck followed his life’s passion and opened his own body shop in Glenview. He proudly and successfully ran Chuck’s Auto Body until it was sold. He currently worked for F & D Auto Body in Libertyville.
Chuck was honored to be a small yet influential part of several charities. He helped raise funds for the Glenview History Center, Toys for Tots, and he volunteered for many years at The Grove in Glenview. Chuck believed in a strong sense of community and pledged his time and allegiance to several organizations, including the Northbrook Gun Club, Zion-Benton Moose Lodge, and the Izaak Walton League of America. He also was a volunteer fireman for the Village of Glenview. Chuck found joy in many activities and could often be found playing a card game, golf, billiards, cribbage, chess, or trap shooting. He also found tranquility on the open water while boating and never turned down the chance to socialize with good friends and especially enjoyed his camp fires. Chuck passed suddenly and while there was no time for a goodbye, there is comfort in knowing his last moments were spent on the golf course, doing what he loved. He is survived by his beloved wife Kathrine (Kitty) nee Rieb, son Charles R. Jr., daughter Michelle and his only grandchild, Johnnie Charles Green, uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Evelyn Gorski and two brothers Richard Jr. and Edward Gorski. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., June 24, 2017 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1850 Chestnut Ave, Glenview. “Celebration of Life” immediately following memorial at Heather Ridge Main Club House, 5900 Heather Ridge Drive, Gurnee, IL 60031. Chuck was one of our Dearest friends. He was so fun loving with always the biggest smile, ready for any kind of adventure, and willing to help out with any task. He was our captain. The leader on our many adventures as couples that brought all of us so much joy. He will live forever in our hearts and memories. Rest In Peace dear friend you will be so missed. Chuck will always be remembered as our happy friend. So giving and known for tending to his friends. Chuck taught us to slow down live in moment and liked things simple. And yet he always was willing to get involved in Kitty’s events no matter how detailed she had made plans for. Chuck loved Kitty and all of us witness his devotion to his wonderful wife and best friend ever.
Grateful to have known Chuck and been included in their social circle of friends.
As a customer of Chuck, I could tell he loved what he did, and he was great at it too. An all around good guy. Very honest and forthright. My prayers are with the family for this terrible loss. He will be missed but not forgotten.
The world has lost one of the brightest smiles. He lit up every room he entered with that smile & chuckle. The love that you and Chuck shared, Kitty, can never be diminished. I hope those wonderful memories will sustain you at this difficult time. My deepest sympathy to you, Michelle, Chuck, Jr. & Johnnie. You are all in my thoughts & prayers.
