Norma Jean Palazzolo

Norma Jean Palazzolo, 76, a resident of Racine and formerly of Round Lake, IL, passed away at Ascension Hospital in Racine, WI.  She was born January 24, 1943 in St. Louis, MO to Marvin and Bonnie Chaffin.  Norma was a bus driver for the Lake County schools for over 10 years.  Norma is survived by her children Bonnie (Antonio) Ortega, Nora (Mitchell) Basham, Lora (Bob) Collins, and William Joseph “Bud” (Lori) Palazzolo, her 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Joanna (Larry) Hoene, George (Tammy) Chaffin, Michael (Jean) Gray.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Joseph Palazzolo, her brothers Harold, Larry, and Marvin Chaffin, and her grandchildren Robert and Stephanie Basham.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Saturday July 6, 2019 from ­10:00am until 12:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 12:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Zachary “Zak” J. Verge

Zachary “Zak” J. Verge, age 52, a resident of Ingleside, passed away at Northwestern Medical Center in McHenry on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.  He was born on January 20, 1967 in Waukegan to Donald and Rita (Lechelt) Verge.  Zak was free spirited with big personality. Hard working and self-reliant, Zak was very loving to his wife.  He enjoyed riding his Harley.  Zak is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jeannette Verge, two aunts, and extended family in Nova Scotia, Canada.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, with the funeral service commencing at 4:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL  Interment will be held privately. Mildred E. Vesely

Mildred E. Vesely, 101, a resident of Wildwood, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at her home.  She was born August 5, 1917 in Chicago, IL to Emil and Susan Kardosh.  A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Patricia A. Morris

Patricia A. Morris, 73, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL.  She was born July 13, 1945 in Mishawaka, IN to Glenn and Mildred Hedman.  Patricia is survived by her son Michael (Bobbi) Morris.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Morris, and her brother Arthur Hedman.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 9:00am until 11:00am with the service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Gail F. Grantschnig

Rudolf E. Malz

Rudolf Erich Malz, 81, of Hainesville, passed away June 19,2019 at his home.  Rudy was born on January 2, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Rudolf and Erna (Mudroch) Malz.  He attended Valparaiso University.  Rudy worked at Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago for many decades.  He was an active member of Prairie Circle Unitarian Universalist Congregation, and was involved in their Social Justice Committee and children’s education.  Rudy loved singing and was a member of many choirs over the years, including Bel canto Chorus in Milwaukee.  He enjoyed gardening and especially loved roses.  He traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe.  He particularly enjoyed his trips to Germany to visit family.  He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters more than anything. 

Rudy is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Rex) Williamson of Williamsville, IL and Leslie Malz of Arlington Heights, IL; two granddaughters, Hannah (Aaron) Foss of Sandwich, IL and Rebecca Williamson of Williamsville, IL; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothea (Walt) Muente and Dolores (Herb) Stride; one brother, Manfred (Marilyn) Malz; and his former wife and friend, Sandra Malz.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 pm at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030.  A memorial visitation and service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 10:00am until 11:00am with the memorial service commencing at 11:00am at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Harriette A. Heppner

Harriette A. Heppner, 84, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Warren Barr in Highland Park, IL.  She was born July 4, 1934 in Bartlett, IL to Louis and Hattie Heppner.  Harriette had attended Calvary Presbyterian Church in Round Lake.  She is survived by several first cousins in the Midwest, and her caregivers and friends Don and Marie Newby.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Myron Heppner.  A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Lourdes J. Calulot

Lourdes “Ending” Juralbal Calulot, 81, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away June 1, 2019 at Warren Barr in Lincolnshire, IL.  She was born May 8, 1938 in Matayumtayum, Tarlac Philippines to Hermogenes Juralbal and Marcelina Martinez.  Ending was a loving mother who managed to raise her kids on her own.  She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren.  Her passions included cooking, sewing, and watching Filipino soap operas.  She also had a green thumb and enjoyed planting roses, money trees, and fortune plants.  She shared these passions and touched so many lives, and she has been respected by all who knew her.  She is survived by her former husband Lolito Calulot Sr., her children Marivic (Cipriano) Espino of Las Vegas, NV, Mildred (Erwin) Santiago of Round Lake, IL, Medilyn (Tim) Whitelock of South Korea, Marites (Rainier 2007) Medrano of Round Lake, and Lolito (Madelyn) Calulot Jr. of Helotes, TX, her grandchildren Lauren Medrano of Round Lake, IL, Erwin (Ryma) Santiago Jr. of Gurnee, IL, Meghan (Viktor) Ascencio of Round Lake, IL, Liezel Calulot of Helotes, TX, Kristen Espino of Las Vegas, NV, Jerwin Santiago of Round Lake, IL and Lindel Calulot of Helotes, TX, her 4 great-grandchildren Reign, Naomi, Penelope, and Zoey, and her siblings Adoracion Juralbal of Quezon City, Philippines and Filipina Guzman of Matayumtayum, Philippines.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rosalina Sahagun, her brothers Felino Juralbal and Rogelio Juralbal, and her son-in-law Rainier Medrano.  A memorial visitation and service is scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 10:00am until 2:00pm with the memorial service beginning at 2:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Linda C. Devine

Linda C. Devine, 68, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at her home.  She was born September 21, 1950 in Bronx, NY to Nicholas and Gertrude Custis.  Linda is survived by her daughters Dianna Watschke and Nicole (Brian) Molinaro, her grandchildren Christian and Grace Watschke and Rylie and Morgan Molinaro, her sister Joanne (Ronald) Russo, and her nephews Ronald (Dana) Russo and Michael (Katie) Russo.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, her brother Richard, and her partner Ed Hall.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, 19, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with the funeral service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Karen A. Winandy

Karen A. Winandy, 70, a resident of Highland Park, IL, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at Journey Care Hospice in Barrington, IL.  Karen was born June 16, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Therese and Joseph Winandy.  Karen is survived by her siblings Victor (Mary Kay) Winandy, Tim (Joanne) Winandy, Janice (David) Adkins, and Jody Veesenmeyer, her nieces and nephew Alecia (Dale) Marson, Jeffrey (Angela) Veesenmeyer, Amy Winandy, Kristy (Marko) Dugandzic, and Jacklyn (Matt) Stephany, 1 great-niece, and 7 great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Lew Veesenmeyer.  A visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 18 2019 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with the service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E.
