Anthony F. Valek

Anthony “Tony” F. Valek, 75, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Thursday January 8, 2015, in Libertyville, IL. He was born October 18, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Helen Valek. Tony was a member of the Electricians Union Local 134. He enjoyed building model railroad trains, spending time with his family, and his farmstead in Grayslake. Tony is survived by his wife of 53 years, Audrey, his children Michele (Brad) Skop, Debbie (Tom) Couch, Tony Valek Jr., and Dawn Valek, his grandchildren Crystal (Jesse) Chamorro, Tiffany (Mike) Toepfer, Michelle (Nick) Miller, Thomas, James, Anthony, Joseph, and Mary Couch, Dylan Valek, Amber Whitman, and Cole and Skylar Kick, his great-grandchildren Anna, Elizabeth, Nick, and Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation is scheduled for Monday January 12, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. Marvin L. Czuczor

Marvin L. Czuczor, 76, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Monday January 5, 2015 in Buffalo Grove, IL. He was born August 23, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Alex and Alice Czuczor. Marvin was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea during peacetime. He was a member of the Round Lake American Legion and had worked at Deublin Company in Waukegan for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, throwing darts, and gardening. Marvin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara, his children Cynthia Alice Czuczor and Douglas (Robin) Czuczor, his grandchildren Candace Paulsen, Carissa Paulsen, Justin D. Myers, and Tyler L. Czuczor, and his great-grandchildren Julie Lindenmuth, Michael Lindenmuth, and Neveah Farah. He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister Marlene. A visitation is scheduled for Friday January 9, 2015 from 4:00pm until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL 60030. James “Jim” R. Norkus

James “Jim” R. Norkus, 53, of Round Lake, IL passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Originally from Mount Prospect, IL Jim attended St. Alphonsus grade school and John Hersey high school. Jim was a Regional Manager at Staples in the Chicago area where he worked for the past 11 years.
An avid music lover and diehard fan of all Chicago sports teams, Jim led an active life touching the lives of so many.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn; Children, Sarah and Michael; Step Children, Elizabeth and Matthew; Parents, Arlene and Ray; Brother, John and Sister, Gail.

A memorial service and celebration of Jim’s life will be held on January 11, 2015 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm with a memorial service commencing at 4:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL. James T. Letarte

James T. Letarte, 87, a resident of Park City, IL, passed away January 1, 2015 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born June 19, 1927 in Chicago, IL. James was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Navy and a retired Teamster Local 301. James is survived by his wife Jeanette, whom he wed on February 9, 1952, his sons James (Judy) and Paul (Kathy), his grandchildren Brian (Michelle) Letarte, Gina (Rob) Travis, Eric (Sarah) Letarte, Laura (Jamie) Siepl, Jennifer (Jeremy) Mroch, and Michael Letarte, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie Letarte, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Howard R. Steuer

Steuer, Howard R. “Howie” of Milwaukee, was born into eternal life on January 1, 2015, at the age of 83.
Loving husband of Alice for 62 years. Devoted dad of Mark (Martha) Steuer, Ellen (Lee) Roth, Peter Steuer, Phil (Antoinette) Steuer, Monica (Mike) Peavy, Neil (Barb) Steuer, Diane (Bill) Verkuilen, Lorraine Krueger, and Andy (Marcie) Steuer. Dear brother of Katy Steuer and Janet Fumuso. Proud grandpa of Ian Steuer, Emily Steuer, Nicole Roth, Natalie Roth, Dawn (Aaron) Wagner, Daniel Steuer, Amy Peavy, Katy (Luke) Walker, Doug (Molly) Peavy, Joe Steuer, Mikayla Steuer, Elizabeth Verkuilen, Mary Verkuilen and Caden Krueger; and dear great grandpa of Tristan, Graham, and Malachi. Survived by many dear relatives and friends both near and far. Preceded in death by his parents George and Leone Steuer; and siblings Bob, Don, Dick, George, Paul and Marge.

Howie was such a loving and caring person. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Howie was a joy to be around and had a contagious smile that lit up the room making you feel loved and welcome. He enjoyed playing cribbage and chess against anyone who was brave enough to take him on. Howie was proud to be a tool and diemaker for 38 years and was a very talented woodworker and carver. He was an avid nature lover and his favorite place for peace and tranquility was Lost Lake in the Nicolet Forest.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (3722 S. 58th St, Milwaukee) at 9:30 am until the service begins at 11 am. Luncheon to follow.
