Richard B. Schmidt

Richard B. Schmidt, 53, a resident of Round Lake, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2014. He was born March 23, 1961 in North Chicago, IL to Robert and Jackie Schmidt. Richard was a longtime employee of Maclean Solutions in Mundelein, IL. He loved watching sports especially the Chicago Bears. Richard is survived by his mother Jackie (Raymond) Swenson, his son Logan Schmidt, his step-children Jamie Peters and Charlotte Sahler, his grandchildren Desiree, Kaitlyn, and Kira, his siblings Robert T. Schmidt Jr., Rita (Robert) Zydlo, Randall Schmidt, Kristi Sloan, and Kylie Bingaman, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Friends of the family may visit on Sunday July 13, 2014 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030. Elizabeth A. Richards

Elizabeth “Liz” A. Richards, 74, a resident of Park City, IL passed away Wednesday July 2, 2014. She was born November 27, 1939 in Chicago to Edward and Eileen Kurek. Liz worked for Baxter for 27 years. She loved to travel and shop. Liz is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael, her children Michelle (John) Kusch, Cheryl Foster, Charlotte (Robert) Boesch, Corinne (Matt) Vohasek, Michael (Sandy) Richards Jr., Diane (Tim) Hirschmiller, and Beth (Mike) Eldridge, her 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Edward (Margaret) Kurek, Linda (Allen) Oelkers, Judy (Harry) Markus, and Dennis (Peggy) Kurek. Harvey H. May Jr.

Harvey H. May Jr., 86, a resident of Round Lake, IL passed away Wednesday June 25, 2014 in Libertyville, IL.  He was born April 9, 1928 in Berwyn, IL.  Harvey was a member of the Moose Club.  Harvey loved to dance and garden.  He worked for Campbell International in Wauconda for 33 years as a fabricator.  Harvey is survived by his children Stephen, Diane, Charles, and Cynthia, his 8 grandchildren, and his 17 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of Josephine.  Friends of the family may visit on Thursday July 10, 2014 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm with a memorial service commencing at 6:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.  Interment will be held privately.  For information, please call 847-223-8122 or visit www.strangfuneral.org.

Shirley L. Klugiewicz

Shirley L. Klugiewicz, 88, a longtime resident of Wildwood, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014, surrounded by family at Advocate Condell Medical Center. She was born in Chicago on May 3, 1926 to Vincent “Charlie” and Marie (Konopacky) Maday. She married Paul Klugiewicz on July 9, 1949.

During her life, Shirley was very involved in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was an active member of Saint Gilbert Church in Grayslake. Her hobbies included reading, camping, traveling, gardening, and jigsaw puzzles. Shirley enjoyed many lunches with her Birthday Club friends.

She is survived by her children Robert of Grayslake; James (Phyllis) of Kentwood, MI; Alan (Theresa) of Grayslake; Daniel (Connie) of Salem, WI; and Susan (Bruce) Dietz of Harvard. Also surviving are her brother Leroy Maday of Chicago and sister Judy Slamecka of North Riverside. Her surviving grandchildren are John (Melinda); Brianne; Sarah (Brian); Rebecca; Laura (Kirk); Peter (Kelsey); Joseph (Jacquie); David (Renee); Rosie; Samantha; and Alex. She has 8 great grandchildren and another on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her brother-in-law Richard Slamecka, her sister-in-law Joan Maday, and her granddaughter Catherine.

Visitation will be at Strang Funeral Chapel in Grayslake on Saturday, July 5 from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by services at Saint Gilbert Church in Grayslake at 11 a.m., then interment at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville.

William M. Lenzen

William “Bill” M. Lenzen, 54, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Monday June 30, 2014. He was born August 3, 1959 in Waukegan to Jerome and Marcella Lenzen. Bill is survived by his mother Marcella, his siblings Linda (the late James) Barnes of Kentucky, Larry (Mary) Lenzen, and Carl (Kim) Lenzen, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Jerome. Friends of the family may visit on Saturday July 5, 2014 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 12:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 East Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030.
