Richard D. Blanchard

Richard D. Blanchard, 83, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014. He was born May 6, 1931 in Grand Forks, ND to John & Delores Blanchard. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the US Air Force. Richard graduated from Sacred Heart Academy now Shanley High School in Fargo, ND in 1949. He was a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church and an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa (Ojibwe) Tribe White Earth Reservation. Richard worked for Armour Foods for 42 years. Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Germaine, his children Mike (Mary), Terri (Steve) Fabbri, Chris (Tammy), Doug (Jennifer), and Lisa, his grandchildren Dylan, Nick, Jenna, Tara, Alyssa, Matthew, Jonathan, and Emily, his great-grandchildren Hannah and Ryder, and his brothers Don, Wayne (Joanne), and Jim (Robyn). He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John. A visitation is scheduled for Friday May 16, 2014 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 am at St. Gilbert Catholic Church 301 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL. Interment will be private. George Francke

Grayslake, IL — George Francke, age 88, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Condell Memorial Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Francke is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Elaine (nee Jacobsen), two loving daughters Cheryl (Gordon) Persha, and Janice Francke, and his much loved grandson Gordon Persha, Jr. He is preceded in death by his father George Francke, Sr., mother Olga, and brother William.
George grew-up in Chicago, IL. He was a veteran of War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a cement mason by trade. He enjoyed gardening and building & flying model airplanes. He was quiet and unassuming, but he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday May 12, 2014 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 10:30 am at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Avon Centre Cemetery in Grayslake, IL. Naomi G. Kruse

Naomi G. Kruse, 93, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2014. She was born March 24, 1921 in Colby, WI to Alphonse and Gertrude (nee: Kaiser) Schmitt. Naomi moved from Colby, WI to Evanston following graduation to work as a restaurant hostess and nanny where she met and married Harry. They settled in Des Plaines for a period before moving to Grayslake in 1971. She was a member of St. Gilbert Church for over 40 years. Naomi was an accomplished seamstress and loved to crochet and knit. Naomi is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harry, her children Nancy (Ed) Sanaghan, Don (Kathy), Steve (Sibby), Bob (Katie), Tom (Kathy), and Mary (Lou) Lettenmair, her 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Emery (Rita) Schmitt, Mark (Delores) Schmitt, Linus (Joan) Schmitt, Tim (Suzie) Schmitt, Mercedes Lang, Germaine (Fred) Redmann, Mary Ann (Ted) Scanlon, and Verjean Kunze. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Rita Peterson, Maude Kocian, Carmen Fosdick, Pamela Schmitt, and Blanche Zera, and a brother Roman Schmitt. A visitation is scheduled for Monday May 12, 2014 from 4:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. with a memorial service commencing at 7:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel 410 E. Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL, 60030, with a memorial mass and inurnment to be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Church in Colby, WI. David A. Jones

David A. Jones, 73, passed away Friday May 2, 2014 in Mesa, AZ. Mr. Jones, a retired Electrical contractor was born in Chicago, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Edith Jones, his daughter Sharon Link and his brother Edward. Survivors include his wife Patricia Jones, daughters Kimberly Burgos and Kristina Jones, Son Richard Jones, sisters Janet and Judy, brothers Larry and Michael, 9 grandchildren Jennifer, Sarah, Samantha, Jasmine, Alyssa, Alanna, Jessica, Kory, Katie and 4 great grandchildren Cali, Conner, Carter & Jayce. Lloyd F. Hamang Sr.

Lloyd F. Hamang Sr., 62, of Waukegan passed away Monday May 5, 2014 at his home. He was born September 21, 1951 to Lloyd and Elinor Hamang. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 13 years, Iletha, his mother Elinor, his son Lloyd F. (Janet) Hamang Jr., Jessica Fox, and Joey Fox, his grandchildren Kelsey, Thomas, Sierra, Cole, Jeff, and Tommy, and his sisters Carla Nicholson and Susan Henniff. Sol Speno

Sol Speno, 77, of Round Lake Beach, Il, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Condell Hospital, in Libertyville, Il. Sol was born to Vito, Mary Speno nee Bingham on May 27, 1936 in Harlem, Ky. Sol loved to fish, he was an avid Bears fan, he enjoyed computers, and all things electrical. He was very proud to have graduated electrical school. Survivors include his wife of 35 years Marion they were married on April 14, 1979, in Fox Lake, Il. Sol is also survived by his children, Mike Speno, Highland Lake, Il, Maronia Marthaler, Park City, Il, Sabrina(Mark)Burns, Antioch, IL, Jeff(Jennifer)Speno, Gurnee, Il, Dina(Thomas)Twigg, Kenosha, Wi, Tony(April)Speno Kenosha, Wi, grandchildren Curry, Cody, Cegan, Jessica, Zachary, Miranda, Mark, Mallory, Keira, Brother Mike Marion Speno , Round Lake Beach, IL.
