Konrad Derryk Spectre

Wanda Stone

Wanda Stone a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Thursday September 27, 2012, at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, at the age of 71. She was born January 3, 1941 in New Madrid, MO. Wanda is survived by her husband of 53 years, William, whom she wed on August 1, 1959 in Henderson, TN, her children Tina (Dave) Spradling of Fox Lake, Kenneth (JoAnne) of Fox Lake, and Tammy (Bob) Weir of Round Lake Beach, her grandchildren James (Tonya) of WI, Kenny (Alicia) of Round Lake Beach, Ashley (fiancé Erik) of Antioch, Steven of Round Lake Beach, and Taylor of Fox Lake, her great-grandchildren Evelyn, Lia, and Dylin, and her siblings Jean, Ruby, and Shirley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and her son Timothy Stone. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday October 2, 2012 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with a funeral service commencing at 12:00pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. Thomas R. Tatera

Thomas R. Tatera, 78, of Grayslake, passed away on Sep. 23, 2012. He was born Feb. 12, 1934 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Bernice and Edward {nee Brozska} Tatera. He was also a Navy Veteran serving from 1953-57. He is survived by his cats Missy and Muffin; Aunt Leonore Scholes; nephews Mitchell, Michael, Christopher (Tammy) Diamond and many additional nephews, nieces and cousins. He was also the cherished brother-in-law to Connie (Collins) Kerulis, Mary (Kerulis) Jackson and Christine Kerulis. Tom is preceded in death by his wife Adrienne (Kerulis), sister Alice (Tatera) Diamond and nephew Lawrence Diamond. Leonard B. Revelle

LEONARD (LENNY) BRYAN REVELLE (N9IJ), 61, of Grayslake, IL passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 22, 2012 after a courageous battle with Esophageal cancer.
Lenny was born June 20, 1951 in Lexington, NC and was very proud of his North Carolina roots. Every October he looked forward to sharing homemade NC BBQ with friends and family.
Lenny was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Round Lake Beach Police Department after 21 years in April, 2008. After a short adventure of driving a semi for Schneider, he worked as a Radio Technician for Lake County Radio Department. Lenny was an Extra Class Amateur Radio Operator. He loved to fly radio controlled planes and helicopters as a member of Skyknights. The best summer vacation was spent up north fishing. He found comfort during his illness with his pets, Molly, Zilla and Daisy. Lenny spent time reading or playing with the latest electronic gadget, but his favorite past-time lately was spending time with friends Ken and Tai on the swing under the maple tree.
Lenny is survived by his true love Susan (Wozniczka) whom he married on September 27, 1986, daughter, Kimberly Schlaeger, and sons, Michael, Jon and Steven, and grandchildren, Gennessie Revelle and Xander Schlaeger. He is also survived by his brothers Barden (Lorri) and Bruce (Michelle), and pseudo daughter, Jenny Martin. He is preceded in death by his son Bryan, his sister Carmen, and parents, Barden and Virginia Revelle.
Visitation is Friday, September 28, 2012 from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at10:00 a.m. at St. Gilbert Church 301 E. Belvidere Road Grayslake, IL 60030. Burial will be at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.

Leonard J. Van Paassen

Leonard J. Van Paassen, a resident of Round Lake Beach, passed away Saturday September 22, 2012 at the age of 59. He was born November 14, 1952 in Chicago to Gerald and Wanda Van Paassen. Leonard was an employee for Walter E. Slager Inc., located in Chicago, for 29 years. He was a member of the Local #4 Union. Leonard had a passion for playing guitar, was an avid motorcyclist, and loved camping especially at the cabin in northern Wisconsin. Leonard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara, his children Jeromy (Jaime), Jason ( his fiancée Heather Sauber), and Jennifer (Daniel) Poirier, his father Gerald, his grandson Alexander Poirier, and his brother Tom (Deborah) Van Paassen. He was preceded in death by his mother Wanda and his sister Sandra. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday September 26, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a funeral service commencing at 8:00pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Jennie M. Orozco

Jennie M. Orozco, nee Grimes, age 83, a former resident of Rolling Meadows, entered into eternal life on September 18, 2012. Born January 28, 1929 in Champaign, IL, she was the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Orozco, her husband of 62 years, the loving mother of the late Rose Marie Orozco, and loving sister of the late Theodore and John Grimes. Jennie is survived by her four children, Maryann (Jack) Servedio, Jennie Jones, Anthony Orozco, and Elena (Thomas) Hladnik; her seven grandchildren, Sebastian (Kristie Felice), John Servedio, Michael (Leann) Servedio, Sarah Adams, Cara (Luke) McGee, Thomas Hladnik Jr. and Amy Hladnik; her four great-grandchildren, Ryan Felice, Anthony Felice, Madison Servedio, and Simon McGee; her brothers, Andrew (Joyce) Grimes and Allen (Heddy) Dunn; and her loving sisters-in-law, Jennie Sanchez, Anastasia Orozco, Thomasa Alaniz and Ruth Garcia. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and a wonderful friend to all. Jennie was a devoted wife and mother, a great cook, and an avid country music fan who loved to sing and play her guitar. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Domitilla Church, 4940 Washington Street, Hillside, IL. Interment will be private. Judith A. Shields

Judith A. Shields, resident of Wildwood, passed away Monday September 17, 2012, at the age of 59. She was born December 29, 1952 in Waukegan to Harry and Mary Shields. Judith had worked for Cardinal Health for 26 years at the Waukegan Facility. She loved caring and being with her dogs. Judith is survived by her father Harry Shields, her siblings Martin (Mary) Shields, Margaret (Rich) Shields, Catherine Shields, 8 nieces, 4 nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday September 22, 2012 from 10:00am until 11:00am with a service commencing at 11:00am at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. BELVIDERE RD. John Wharton Sr.

John Wharton Sr., a longtime resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday September 15, 2012, at the age of 82.  He was born December 17, 1929 in Dayton, OH to Harry and Lucille Wharton.  John and Wynelle founded the family business, Wharton Paving in 1954.  He was proud to be a member of the Masons.  John is survived by his wife, whom he shared a wonderful marriage of 62 years, Wynelle, his children Linda Wharton, John R. Wharton and beloved dogs Willy and Bubba, and Kelly (Janet Dill) Wharton, his sister Vee Jacobson, his great-niece Monique, and many loving family, extended family from Nashville, TN, Birmingham, AL, and Reno, NV.  We would like to give a  special thanks to John’s caregivers, Bobby, Jackie, Phillip, and Raymond for all of their kindness over the past couple of years.  He was preceded in death by his brother Harry Wharton, his mother Lucille Wharton, and his father Harry Wharton.  All services will be held privately and were arranged by STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. James W. Harris

James W. Harris, an 87-year-old Grayslake resident, passed away at home unexpectedly Thursday, September 13, 2012.  He was born in Bingen, Arkansas on October 9, 1924 to the now late Kenneth Q. and Florence B. {nee Ray} Harris.  James was retired from the Illinois State Police.  He is survived by his son Kevin (Barbara) Harris; his grandson Michael Harris; his brother Raymond (Gloria) Harris of Iowa; two nieces and a nephew; grand-nieces and grand-nephews; many cousins; and his dear friend Helen Mulloy.  His wife Mary and sister Lou Marie Oliver preceded him in death.  Friends of the family may visit at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E.
